The City of Chester has three major parks within the city. Two small playgrounds are located at 9th street and the intersection of 3rd street and Louisianan Ave. Each playground has swings and other facilities for the use of the public. The third and major park is Chester City Park which hosts many events. The park holds two pavilions that are open to the public, but can be rented out for private parties. Other facilities include the boat launching docks, skate park, and softball field. On the softball field in the green area, the local Jr. Bears football team plays and practices. All parks in Chester are open from dawn to dusk and are closed during the night time hours.
